Meadville Medical Center in Meadville, PA, seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for the Emergency Department on a per diem night schedule. The role involves direct patient care under the supervision of a Professional Nurse, with focus on safety, pain management, and timely reporting of patient changes.

Responsibilities include medication administration (including IVs), patient rounds, and documentation. Requires current LPN license; ACLS may be required within six months.

Qualificações

• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
• Current State Nursing License.
• ACLS certification may be required or obtained within six months.
• Strong communication to educate patient and family.

Responsabilidades

• Reports pertinent observations, changes, and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person.
• Notifies team leader, charge person and/or physician of observations regarding patients.
• Documentation on patient record of observations, changes and reactions and the reporting of them to the appropriate person.
• Communicates patient’s condition to team leader at change of shift.
• Conducts hourly rounds on assigned patients with focus on safety and pain management.
• Administers medications, including IVs according to hospital policy and procedure.
• Demonstrates competency in IV insertion and tubing changes.
• Adheres to patient safety goals of medication administration.
• Participates in orientation and ongoing education; attends meetings and unit activities.
