Job summary

Fairview Health Services, located at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN, is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the Emergency Department. The role is a .7 FTE position working 8-hour evening shifts with every other weekend, and a variable weekday schedule.

Qualifications

• 1 year office experience is required.
• Preferred 1 year office experience preferably in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Maintains patient shadow charts and ensures records are in proper order.
• Manages patient status board and census for admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Communicates with patients, families and the care team to support patient care.
• Supports customer service excellence by addressing needs of patients, families, staff and physicians.
• Troubleshoots technology issues on the unit and coordinates information for discharge or transfer.
