Job summary

Bath County Community Hospital's Emergency Department is seeking an EMT to provide clinical, technical, and clerical support to ensure smooth patient flow and safe, patient-centered care.

The role involves triage, vitals, EHR documentation, procedures assistance, and strict infection control adherence. Current Virginia EMT-Basic/Advanced/Paramedic certification and EVOC/BLS are required; ACLS/PALS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Emergency Department/EMS/patient care experience preferred.
• Virginia EMT-Basic, Advanced, or Paramedic certification required; EVOC; BLS.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, obtain vitals, and assist with intake and triage.
• Document patient information in the electronic health record.
• Assist providers and nurses with clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Perform EKGs, wound care support, and specimen collection.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
