Job summary

Methodist Health System is seeking an ER Technician II to support emergency services by providing basic patient care under supervision and assisting with direct patient care as ordered by physicians. You will operate laboratory equipment, assist in patient discharge and education, and help with care transitions within our hospital network.

• Current Texas EMT-P certification or National EMT-P Certification is required or preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Job Purpose

The ER Technician II is responsible for all basic patient care duties and assists with direct patient care to provide support services to the patients, families, and other Emergency Services staff. This includes, but is not limited to, therapeutic treatment as ordered by the physician on duty, operation of laboratory equipment, patient discharge and education.

Education

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Licenses And/or Certifications

• Current Texas EMT-P certification (license required) or National EMT-P Certification
• Current Basic Life Support Certification required

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification required within 90 days of hire

Work Experience

• 1 year of work-related experience - preferred
