Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in Oceanside, CA seeks a Coder II to accurately code diagnoses and procedures for the Emergency Department, Infusion/Wound Care, and outpatient encounters using HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM. Under supervision of the Director or Manager, you’ll ensure compliant, timely coding and participate in ongoing education to maintain certification.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months ED coding with ICD-10-CM and CPT required.
• One year outpatient/inpatient coding with ICD-10-CM and CPT acceptable.
• Internal transfers: 1 year Coder 1 at Tri-City Medical Center in lieu.
• RHIT/CCS/CCA/CPC certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and visit procedures for ED, Infusion Wound Care Clinic, and Outpatient Encounters.
• Maintain coding accuracy using HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM guidelines.
• Adhere to AHIMA ethical coding standards and participate in ongoing education.
