Job summary

Sharp Tri-City is seeking a Coder II to code diagnoses and procedures in the Emergency Department, Infusion Wound Care Clinic, and Outpatient Encounters. You will apply HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM coding rules with accuracy and integrity.

The role requires at least 6 months of ED coding experience or 1 year in outpatient/inpatient coding, with a focus on documentation quality and compliance. The position includes on-site duties and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months Emergency Department coding experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Alternatively, one year outpatient or inpatient coding experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT.
• Internal transfers: 1 year Coder 1 at Tri-City Medical Center eligible.
• Preferred: Wound Care Clinic or Infusion Center coding experience with CPT/ICD-10-CM.

Responsibilities

• Code encounters using HCPCS/CPT and ICD-10-CM coding guidelines.
• Maintain a safe, clean working environment and infection control requirements.
• Observe and report unusual documentation patterns requiring further action.
• Pursue ongoing education to maintain current professional certification.
