Job summary

UAB Medicine seeks a dedicated RN for the Emergency Department on a full-time night shift at UAB St. Vincent's Blount. The role coordinates staffing, leads nursing and support staff, and ensures high-quality patient care with clinical objectives met.

Ongoing evaluations and care assignments support optimal outcomes. Licensure as an RN in Alabama is required, with BLS within 30 days of hire and ACLS/PALS as needed for certain units.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Alabama required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA/Red Cross accepted).
• ACLS/PALS may be required within 6 months for some units (ED/ICU).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate unit staffing and provide leadership during assigned shift.
• Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff; participate in performance evaluations.
• Assess daily patient care needs and distribute patient assignments to ensure appropriate care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of patient care; identify issues affecting outcomes.
• Respond to patient care complaints and manage through established channels.
