Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to join our Emergency Department team. This role provides direct patient care under licensed nurses, assists with ADLs, takes vital signs and supports family-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Nights 6pm–6:30am, 36 hours per week, with holiday and weekend rotations. Requires a High School Diploma or GED and CNA certification. Benefits include comprehensive medical and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates ability to provide patient-centered care under supervision.
• Collects vitals and basic clinical data.
• Performs activities of daily living support and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under nurse supervision; assists with ADLs and vital signs.
• Collects clinical data and reports changes to the nurse.
• Assists in patient and family education; serves as 1:1 sitter when needed.
• Ensures supplies and equipment are available for patient needs.
• Participates in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
