Ochsner Health System's Emergency Department seeks a Multifunctional Risk Sitter to support nursing staff during 11p-7a shifts on a PRN basis. Under direct supervision of a licensed nurse, you will assist with patient monitoring and essential comfort measures in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities include documenting tasks, maintaining certifications (BLS, CPI as required), and adapting care to diverse patient populations. Previous hospital experience is preferred, but not required for entry.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred hospital experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required upon hire.
• Strong computer and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Provides direct patient care with direct supervision of the registered nurse.
• Performs clinical job duties as outlined by departmental competency.
• Supports nursing and hospital administration by acceptance of established objectives, policies and procedures.
• Accurately documents patient related tasks.
• Maintains professional knowledge and required certifications through growth and development.
• Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style.
• Performs other related duties as required.
