Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is seeking a full-time Emergency Department support role. The position coordinates tests and treatments across departments, handles communications, and supports patient admissions, transfers, and discharges in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires basic computer skills, strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a hectic ED environment. 36 hours per week with day shifts and a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED/HSED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Able to work in a busy hospital setting.
• Proficient with basic computer operations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate tests and treatments across departments to schedule patient care.
• Facilitate communications via telephone, paging, and hospital systems; monitor equipment.
• Use EMR and systems to order supplies and process charges.
• Prepare chart forms for admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Verify patient demographic and registration data for accuracy.
• Maintain positive customer relations and provide responsive service to the health care team.
• Demonstrate age-appropriate care knowledge for patients served.
