Job summary

The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia seeks a Health Unit Coordinator for the Emergency Department to serve as the operational hub, ensuring smooth flow of information, patient movement, and team connectivity in a fast-paced ICU-like ED environment.

You will work with nurses, physicians, and support services to coordinate care activities, maintain records, and support patient and family experiences, while staying organized and calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Licensure: None.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the medical record in good form.
• Communicates effectively using established systems/protocols.
• Communicates effectively with ancillary departments.
• Maintains unit supplies/forms appropriately.
• Assumes responsibility for professional development of self and contributes to and assists with the professional development of others.
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
