Job summary

Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City is seeking an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Assistant/Technician for a swing shift. You will support veterinarians and the ECC team in a fast-paced hospital, handling restraints, treatments, diagnostics, and patient care.

The role requires prior veterinary assistant experience, comfort with overnight shifts, and strong teamwork to ensure high-quality care for critically ill animals.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience required.
• Emergency, ICU, or specialty experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work overnight shifts and weekends

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint, treatments, and diagnostics.
• Support emergency and critical care patient flow during overnight shifts.
• Prepare treatment areas, surgical suites, and diagnostic equipment.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and ICU areas.
• Provide compassionate support to clients and patients during emergency visits.
• Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining hospital readiness
