Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Assistant to join the ECC team. You will support veterinarians and technicians in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting, including patient restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring in the ICU.

The role demands calm under pressure, attention to detail, and a passion for emergency medicine. Swing shift and weekend availability are required to ensure continuous patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience required.
• Emergency, ICU, or specialty experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and weekends.
• Passion for emergency and critical care veterinary medicine.
• Swing shift and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint, treatments, and diagnostics
• Support emergency and critical care patient flow during overnight shifts
• Prepare treatment areas, surgical suites, and diagnostic equipment
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition
• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and ICU areas
• Provide compassionate support to clients and patients during emergency visits
• Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining hospital readiness
