Neel Veterinary Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK, seeks an Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Assistant to support the ECC team in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. This swing shift role requires calm under pressure, attention to detail, and a passion for emergency medicine.

You will assist veterinarians and technicians with restraints, treatments, diagnostics, sample collection, and preparing treatment areas, while delivering compassionate client service and maintaining hospital readiness.

Qualifications

• Previous veterinary assistant experience required.
• Emergency, ICU, or specialty experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced emergency setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress situations.
• Comfortable working overnight shifts and weekends.
• Passion for emergency and critical care veterinary medicine.
• Swing shift and weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient restraint, treatments, and diagnostics.
• Support emergency and critical care patient flow during overnight shifts.
• Prepare treatment areas, surgical suites, and diagnostic equipment.
• Monitor hospitalized patients and report changes in condition.
• Collect and process laboratory samples.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and ICU areas.
• Provide compassionate support to clients and patients during emergency visits.
• Assist with stocking supplies and maintaining hospital readiness.
