Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Summit, NJ seeks an experienced Emergency Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our Behavioral Health team in the emergency department. You will conduct crisis assessments, de-escalation, develop disposition plans, coordinate care with psychiatric providers, and support patient navigation through the system.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work or related field with NJ LSW/LAC licensure; NJ LCSW/LPC preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling or related field.
• NJ LSW/LAC license required.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency crisis intervention services and risk assessments.
• Complete de-escalation interventions with patients and interdisciplinary team.
• Complete initial crisis evaluations and safety planning.
• Document accurately per department standards and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate pre-certifications/insurance authorizations as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, psychiatric providers, social work and medical staff.
