Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of tech support for emergency communications.
• Experience designing and maintaining IP-based networks and radio systems.
• FCC licenses and related certifications preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Administers IP-based first responder radio and data networks and IP telephony.
• Engineers computer systems, servers, network security, and solutions.
• Consult with customers to design systems based on needs and workflows.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain E-911 and radio systems.
• Manage technical projects for internal departments and external agencies.
• Perform diagnostics with test equipment and rapid repairs for the WAN.
• Guide decisions for maintenance and support of mobile, base station radio equipment and related systems.
• Provide 24/7 on-call repair and support for 800 MHz trunked radio network.
• Maintain cache radio equipment in readiness.
• Assist in continual operation of public safety communications systems.
