Job summary

The Town of Hartford, Vermont, is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Emergency Communications Specialist in the Hartford Police Department. You will handle 911 and business calls, dispatch emergency responders, and learn to use computer-based dispatch systems with training to become EMD and NG911 certified.

This position includes evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays with optional overtime. Starting pay is $25.28 per hour during training, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Emergency Communications Specialist

The Hartford, Vermont Police Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of full-time Emergency Communications Specialist. This position requires working in a fast-paced telecommunication center answering business and 911 emergency calls and dispatching appropriate police, fire, EMS or other emergency response personnel. The successful applicant will become familiar with computer-based dispatching systems. Training will be provided for the successful candidate to become an EMD and NG911 certified. • Age 18+ at the time of certification
• U.S. Citizenship or documented authorization to work in the United States
• High school graduate or GED
