Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• No prior professional experience required.
• Must obtain LINK/NCIC, Emergency Medical Dispatcher and Telecommunicator certifications within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Answer radio and telephone calls (including 911 in designated areas).
• Gather and relay pertinent information; dispatch to police and emergency personnel.
• Provide pre-arrival instructions during medical emergencies.
• Operate the Computer Aided Dispatching system (CAD).
• Familiarity with Post region and nationwide law enforcement systems.
• Assist troopers and detectives with investigations ranging from traffic enforcement to major crime.
