Job summary

Clover Park School District is hiring an Emergency Certificated Substitute Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Lakewood, Washington. The position pays $200/day (or $100/half-day) with $210/day upon completing CPSD Guest Teacher training.

Employment is on an on-call, at-will basis and requires OSPI certification. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree and six months of experience with school-age children; Washington Emergency Substitute Certification will be supported by

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.
OSPI-issued Washington Emergency Substitute Certification.
Six months experience with school-age children.
Ability and desire to work regularly – at least 1 time a month.
Ability to develop and maintain effective classroom management.
Ability to employ effective teaching methods.

Responsibilities

Follows lesson plans from the regular teacher to create a cohesive learning experience.
Addresses individual learning needs and fosters a respectful classroom climate.
Demonstrates instructional competency and revises instruction as needed.
Communicates pupil progress toward objectives.
Interacts positively with students, staff, and District patrons.
Performs assigned duties punctually and meets classes.
