Job summary

Pullman School District 267 seeks an Emergency Substitute Teacher to join on an on-call basis, supporting classrooms as needed. The role emphasizes maintaining a positive learning environment, delivering effective lessons in the regular teacher's absence, and guiding individual students through daily activities.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher, the ability to obtain a Washington State Emergency Substitute Certificate (including fingerprint/background check), and experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Ability to obtain Washington State Emergency Substitute Certificate, including fingerprint/background check.
• Experience working with school-aged children.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive, calm, and safe learning environment.
• Implement effective lessons in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Provide assistance and guidance to individual students.
• Maintain appropriate student records, including daily grades and attendance reports.
• Utilize technology to deliver lessons using online platforms (Seesaw, Google, etc.).
• Enforce school rules and monitor student behavior.
• Work collaboratively with other staff and administrators.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
• Regularly demonstrate professionalism in appearance, actions, decisions, and overall performance.
• Work with minimal supervision and be flexible.
