Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support nurses and physicians in delivering safe patient care. You will assist with treatments, monitor vital signs, prepare equipment, and help manage patient flow in a fast-paced ED.

The role requires strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to respond quickly in emergencies. A high school diploma and BLS certification are needed, with travel occasional as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of patient care experience, preferred.
• BLS certification within 6 months from date of hire, required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient treatments assigned by the RN and other health care team members.
• Report patient condition to the supervisor and staff as needed.
• Assist with patient flow and collection of specimens or treatment per direction.
• Provide CPR/ resuscitation support and emergency airway assistance.
• Monitor vital signs and documentation; maintain a safe environment.
