Job summary

Shoreline Community College is seeking a Program Specialist 2 to serve as the first point of contact for students accessing emergency aid and resources in the Benefits Hub. This position coordinates emergency aid programs and supervises Benefits Hub work-study students and volunteers.

Under supervision of the Director of Student Support, the role requires a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and strong knowledge of FERPA, data management, and cross-department collaboration to expand access to

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proven skills in customer service and intercultural communication.
  • Ability to present to diverse audiences and manage time effectively.
  • Strong written communication and data entry abilities.
  • Experience coordinating with campus departments and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide resource navigation for students to connect with campus and community supports.
  • Assist students in completing FAFSA/WASFA, public benefits and housing applications.
  • Effectively manage weekly schedule to accommodate appointments, data entry, and service tasks.
  • Purchase, inventory and restock items for the Benefits Hub.
  • Supervise Benefits Hub student workers and volunteers.
  • Review emergency aid applications and score with review committee.
  • Coordinate emergency aid awards and email approvals/denials.
  • Track emergency aid data and expenditures in spreadsheets.
  • Provide ongoing case management for special student populations.
  • Collaborate with college departments to improve access to services and funding.
  • Participate in regional trainings and conferences for staff collaborations.
