Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to interview, evaluate, and administer aid to clients seeking emergency assistance. You will screen callers and visitors, pre-qualify needs, and refer clients to partner agencies in alignment with established guidelines.

You will assist with applications for emergency aid, track funds, prepare FEMA files, and submit monthly transaction reports. Collaboration with the Corps Officer and POH case manager is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma;Bachelor’s preferred or equivalent
• Two years of college in Human Services acceptable; caseworker certification within 90 days preferred
• Experience with low income/minority populations is typical for this role
• Ability to complete FEMA files and related documentation accurately

Responsibilities

• Interview, evaluate, and administer aide to clients seeking emergency assistance
• Screen calls/visitors and pre-qualify needs for emergency assistance
• Refer clients to other agencies per guidelines and document referrals
• Assist clients in completing applications for emergency aid, commodities, or sign-ups
• Maintain spreadsheets and track funds used from emergency accounts
• Prepare FEMA files and monthly transaction reports
• Develop relationships with community agencies andPOH case manager
• Coordinate seasonal outreach and assist in self-sufficiency goals
