Job summary

Cohere is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to lead security operations across cloud environments and IaC. You will partner with engineering to secure scalable infrastructure, implement secure-by-default designs, and drive automation of security controls.

You will manage IAM/RBAC, deploy SIEM/SOAR and other tooling, respond to incidents, and support cross-team compliance initiatives while advocating practical, secure solutions for developers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SecOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Security, or related roles with a security tooling focus.
• Hands-on security engineer focused on automating controls and pipelines.
• Experience managing cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI) and Kubernetes environments.
• Familiar with CI/CD systems and SecOps workflows (Git, Terraform) in cloud environments.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, network segmentation, and security observability.
• Proficiency in Golang and/or Python; comfortable with ambiguity and making informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Advise leadership on security risks and partner teams on risk mitigation.
• Harden cloud-native environments with secure-by-default designs across networks, tooling, and processes.
• Own secure infra design and reuse code libraries via IaC for scalable security.
• Manage IAM/RBAC and collaborate with IT on unified access control.
• Deploy and operate security services (SIEM, SOAR, domain monitoring, endpoint tooling).
• Respond to incidents and harden environments post-incident.
• Support compliance controls and monitor security metrics across teams.
