Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation seeks an EMCS Technician to maintain, repair, analyze, and install EMCS systems and components using a range of tools and testing instruments. The role involves inspecting sensors, interpreting control logic, and balancing HVAC systems across multiple zones.

The candidate will read mechanical drawings, utilize laptops and software interfaces, and perform related duties as needed to ensure reliable EMCS performance per contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Four years’ experience with direct digital control (DDC) systems.
• Three years’ experience in the Test and Balance (TAB) of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Two years experience programming and using computer operated systems, to include Windows operated software packages.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical system as-built drawings.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels; ability to work harmoniously with others.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs, analyzes, and installs EMCS systems and components using hand tools and testing instruments.
• Performs inspections of installed analog/digital sensors, switches, actuators, valves, and associated components.
• Interprets ladder and block programming control logic.
• Tests and balances mechanical HVAC systems including variable air volume, constant volume, multi-zone ducts, and exhaust systems.
• Uses instruments such as pressure gauges, manometers, anemometers, barometers, and RPM gauges to test systems.
• Reads and interprets mechanical/digital control system drawings and project specifications.
• Uses laptop computers and various analytical software/hardware interfaces to analyze EMCS systems.
• Performs other related duties associated to the job classification.

Summary/ General Description of Responsibilities

Maintains, repairs, analyzes, and installs EMCS systems and components using hand tools and testing instruments to include digital and analog voltage/amperage meters, electronic temperature and humidity meters, DC voltage power supplies, etc.

Specific Responsibilities

• Performs inspections of installed analog/ digital sensors, switches, actuators, valves, and associated components.
• Interprets ladder and block programming control logic.
• Tests and balances mechanical heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. These systems include variable air volume, constant volume, multi-zone ducts, and exhaust systems.
• Uses a variety of instruments, including pressure gauges, manometers, anemometers, barometers, and contact rpm gauges.
• Reads and interprets mechanical/ digital control system drawings and project specifications.
• Uses laptop computers and various analytical software/ hardware interfaces to analyze EMCS systems.
• Performs other related duties associated to the job classification.

Job Requirements, Mandatory

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Flight line driving permit.
• Four years’ experience with direct digital control (DDC) systems.
• Three years’ experience in the Test and Balance (TAB) of Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems.
• Two years experience programming and using computer operated systems, to include Windows operated software packages.
• Able to read and interpret mechanical system as-built drawings.
• Ability to communicate ideas effectively with personnel at all levels; ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand American English to an eighth grade level for a working knowledge of hazardous, safety, and environmental warnings, as per contract requirement.
