Job summary

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System is seeking an Electronic Industrial Controls Mechanic to maintain and repair the Medical Center's Environmental Monitoring and Controls Systems (EMCS).

The role will focus on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of EMCS components, test equipment, and related electrical and electronic controls, using safety procedures and calibrated tools on HVAC systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with electronic equipment assembly, installation and repair.
• Ability to test and troubleshoot EMCS components.
• Familiarity with use of hand and power tools for electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair equipment associated with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, boilers, chillers and energy management.
• Perform tests using electronic testing devices designed for EMCS components.
• Determine if equipment is operating efficiently and repair HVAC systems as needed.
• Install and diagnose faults in electrical equipment including wiring and thermostats.
• Interpret complex drawings and schematics and follow safety procedures.
