Job summary

Google LLC is seeking an EMC Test Engineer to ensure complex hardware complies with global EMC and RF standards. You will own the hardware development life-cycle from verification to formal certification and sustaining, acting as a gatekeeper for releases by preparing Equipment Under Test and executing comprehensive test plans.

You will lead root-cause analysis and propose design mitigations, coordinating with hardware design, firmware, and external labs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical field.
• 2 years of hardware testing experience.
• 2 years of experience in EMC/EMI testing or hardware validation.
• Experience developing and executing EMC/EMI test plans including radiated/conducted emissions, immunity, ESD.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and troubleshooting with design mitigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute full EMC test plans for hardware in internal and external labs.
• Lead offline bring-up for EUTs and coordinate with firmware and lab teams.
• Perform root-cause analysis on compliance failures and recommend shielding, grounding, or PCB layout changes.
• Drive EMC/ESD qualification for high-speed components and act as release gate SME.
• Author SOPs and expand lab capabilities for compliance-by-design.
