NIO seeks exceptional AI Robotics Researchers to join its next-generation embodied systems team. You will work at the intersection of embodied AI, dexterous robotic manipulation, and physical world understanding, bridging fundamental research with real-world robotics deployment.

Ideal candidates will pursue or hold a PhD and lead research on perception, control, and world models, with hands-on experience in robotics and modern ML frameworks.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Robotics, Computer Science, AI, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Strong background in robot learning, RL, imitation learning, world modeling or differentiable physics.
• Hands-on experience with robotic manipulation, grasp planning, tactile sensing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct original research in embodied AI, robotic manipulation and world modeling.
• Develop large multimodal models combining vision, language, proprioception and touch.
• Prototype dexterous hands and contact-rich manipulation algorithms.
• Explore sim-to-real transfer, self-supervised learning and model-based RL.
• Collaborate with hardware and systems teams to translate research into real robots.
• Publish in top AI/robotics venues and shape NIO’s embodied intelligence roadmap.
