Job summary

LG Electronics is hiring an Embodied AI Engineer in New York, NY with a hybrid work setup. The role focuses on translating embodied AI research into deployable generalist robot intelligence across LG home robot platforms.

Responsibilities include implementing model architectures (VLA, diffusion/flow-matching), building scalable training/inference pipelines, and collaborating with robot hardware and global teams to integrate embodied AI into consumer products.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry or research experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or related technical field
• Strong software engineering proficiency in Python or C++, including data pipelines to deployed models
• Hands-on experience with Robot Foundation Models and related policies
• Experience building data pipelines for robot learning and robot system infrastructure

Responsibilities

• Implement, debug, and optimize model architectures such as VLA, diffusion/flow-matching policies and world models
• Build and maintain scalable training and evaluation infrastructure for Robot Foundation Models and on-robot deployment stacks
• Architect and operate large-scale data pipelines combining simulation, generative AI, teleoperation and real-world data collection
• Collaborate with robot hardware to bring up new platforms, debug real-world failures, and bridge simulation to deployment
• Coordinate with global research teams and hardware partners to integrate embodied AI into LG’s consumer ecosystem

Responsibilities

• Implement, debug, and optimize model architectures including VLA, diffusion/flow-matching policies, and world models to move from prototype to reliable, reproducible systems
• Build and maintain scalable training and evaluation infrastructure for Robot Foundation Models and on-robot deployment stacks
• Architect and operate large-scale data pipelines that combine simulation, generative AI, teleoperation, and real-world data collection to support model training
• Work directly with robot hardware to bring up new platforms, debug real-world failures, and close the loop between simulation and deployment
• Collaborate with global research teams and hardware partners to integrate embodied AI systems into LG’s consumer ecosystem and contribute engineering input to technical roadmaps

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant industry and/or research experience, or Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant industry and/or research experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Strong software engineering proficiency in Python or C++, including experience working across the full stack from data pipelines to deployed models
• Hands-on experience with one or more of:
  • Training and deploying Robot Foundation Models (e.g., VLA, diffusion/flow-matching policies for manipulation or locomotion)
• Hands-on experience with one or more of:
  • Building data pipelines for robot learning (simulation, teleoperation, generative data augmentation)
• Hands-on experience with one or more of:
  • Developing and maintaining robot system infrastructure for robot manipulators or mobile robots
  • RGB/Depth cameras
  • FT/tactile sensors
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work closely with research scientists and translate ideas into shipped systems

Compensation

• USD 150,000 - 210,000 per year
• Compensation range depends on experience and location
