Job summary

Silicon Labs in Austin, TX, invites engineers to join the RAIL team to develop and optimize firmware for wireless radio platforms. You will design, implement, and test C/C++ software on resource-limited microcontrollers, ensuring robust performance across Bluetooth Low Energy, proprietary wireless, and multi‑protocol IoT solutions.

Collaborating with hardware, SDK, validation, and applications teams, you will diagnose issues, contribute to code reviews, and help advance development processes

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong interest in embedded software, wireless communications, and low-level system development.
• Academic or project experience in embedded software development using C or C++.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded software features for Silicon Labs wireless radio platforms.
• Design, implement, test, and debug firmware in C/C++ for resource-constrained microcontrollers.
• Support radio-control capabilities, including transmit, receive, power management, timing, and diagnostic features.
• Collaborate with hardware, radio design, SDK, validation, and applications teams to bring new wireless products and features to market.
• Investigate software and hardware integration issues using debuggers, logic analyzers, and other lab tools.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical documentation, automated testing, and continuous improvement of development processes.
