Job summary

The Carlyle Group is seeking a Forward Deployed Product Engineer to own and scale business-critical GPE applications. This senior VP role embeds with Deal Teams and Fund Management to ship production software and AI capabilities, guiding technical standards and delivery patterns.

In-office requirement: 4 days per week. The role emphasizes business impact, not ticket counts, and requires deep technical execution paired with sharp product judgment and executive presence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; concentration in computer science/engineering preferred.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience with ownership of critical apps.
• Hands-on Python production systems experience; strong data platform knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of GPE applications end-to-end from discovery to production support.
• Design, build, and maintain full-stack apps (Python backend, React/Next.js frontend).
• Develop scalable APIs and data pipelines integrating Snowflake and external data.
• Prototype rapidly, then productionize winning solutions with strong security and performance.
