Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Embedded Engineer (Video Streaming) to design and implement streaming features for our 1M+ deployed cameras. You will collaborate with firmware, backend, and native client teams to build a high-performance streaming capture experience for live and history videos.

The role requires strong C/C++ skills in embedded Linux, 5+ years in video streaming, and a willingness to work onsite five days per week in California.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Computer Science.
• 5+ years in embedded systems development focusing on video streaming.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded Linux environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize embedded video encoding and streaming pipelines.
• Implement and tune hardware-accelerated codecs (H.264/HEVC/AV1).
• Build/extend multimedia frameworks for real-time capture and delivery.
• Integrate and optimize streaming protocols (RTSP, RTP, RTMP, HLS, DASH, WebRTC).
• Profile startup time, latency, and QoE; debug encoding pipelines and transport.
