Job summary

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions in Roseville, CA is seeking an Experienced Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement mission-critical flight software for next-generation UAV flight computers. You will bridge high-level algorithms with custom avionics hardware, delivering deterministic C/C++ applications and collaborating with hardware and GNC engineers.

You will work at the intersection of hardware and software, with MATLAB/Simulink, RTOS, and HW-in-the-loop testing.

Qualifications

• BS degree required in Computing Science or related field.
• 10 years of C/C++ programming experience.
• Understanding of OOP principles and RTOS.
• Experience with software life-cycle and documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware-in-the-loop and firmware updates.
• May require U.S. Citizenship for clearance.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and tests C++ flight software and hardware integrations.
• Analyzes system requirements with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Writes software specifications, test descriptions, and reports.
• Designs, implements, tests, and documents software per KUAS specs.
• Hybrid work from office Tue/Wed/Thu in Roseville, CA; strong candidates may be fully remote.
