Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 2+ years of embedded software, controls development, or software systems engineering.
• Experience with C, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar toolchains.
• Understanding of transmission, propulsion, torque-management, driveline, or related vehicle controls.
• Experience translating requirements into software design, implementation and verification.
• Structured problem solving to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Familiar with software quality attributes and disciplined development practices.
• Ability to work independently within processes and collaborate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine embedded software control functions for transmission operation and shift execution.
• Translate system requirements into software content and verification activities.
• Design and maintain software using C, MATLAB, Simulink, or similar toolchains.
• Participate in design reviews and follow GM development processes and standards.
• Integrate transmission control software with vehicle and propulsion-system functions.
• Create and execute software verification activities including unit and HIL testing.
• Collaborate with calibration, systems, and architecture teams to resolve issues.
