Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Transmission Hydraulic Controls Design and Release Engineer or Technical Specialist to lead design and release of valve body assemblies and related components. The role involves collaboration with suppliers and GM plants, development of global commodity strategies, and driving cost, mass, and schedule improvements across programs.

The position requires 7+ years in design and release, strong analytical and communication skills, and experience with CAD/CAE.

7+ years of experience in design and release.

Responsibilities

Design and release valve body assemblies and related components such as valves, solenoids, castings, and spacer plates.
Collaborate with suppliers and GM manufacturing plants responsible for final valve body assembly.
Develop globally harmonized commodity strategies and ensure robust technical direction.
Perform complex design analysis and evaluate engineering designs.
Lead root cause analysis for field issues and implement containment and corrective actions.
Balance cost, mass, complexity, and timing while supporting prototype and production builds.
