Job summary

Scientific Drilling is seeking a Systems Verification Engineer to join our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. The role focuses on manual, exploratory and regression testing of embedded software and hardware, creating test plans, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to verify system-level functionality.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/EE or related field, 3+ years in QA for software/firmware, and experience with TestRail and Jira.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of proven QA experience testing software and/or firmware.
• Experience with embedded systems hardware and software.
• Experience designing automated UI tests is a plus.
• Programming experience (Python and/or JavaScript) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual, exploratory and regression tests based on specifications.
• Log defects following defined test reporting procedures.
• Work independently to investigate system-level bugs and defects to isolate the area of failure.
• Create test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria for each application.
• Apply analytic skills to solve problems and find/implement effective solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective verification criteria.
• Create and update repository of internal procedures.
• Execute scripts for automated testing.
