Job summary

Acacia (Cisco) is seeking a senior software engineer to lead embedded firmware architecture for future optical transceivers. You will collaborate with hardware, ASIC, and DSP teams to drive system software development and bring-ups, while engaging with customers on technical discussions.

You will mentor junior engineers and ensure smooth transition of product software to manufacturing, operating onsite in Maynard, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 8+ years in telecommunications.
• 8+ years of experience with C++ and C.
• 8+ years of embedded firmware development (control and data path).
• Experience with bare metal and RTOS on embedded CPUs and microcontrollers.
• Experience with control systems.

Responsibilities

• Architect embedded software and complex optical sub-systems for Acacia SOCs.
• Lead architecture and design, collaborating with HW/ASIC/DSP teams.
• Develop algorithms, contribute to code development, and bring up systems in lab.
• Interface with cross-functional teams and customers on SW architecture and design.
