Job summary

Addison Group is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of embedded software engineers in the Greater Seattle Area. The role focuses on bare-metal and RTOS development for highly regulated products, with ownership of architecture, design, and lifecycle processes.

You will manage a team of 6–10 engineers, drive quality and processes, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and quality teams to ensure successful product development and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on development with bare-metal embedded systems and/or RTOS.
• 2+ years of experience managing software teams or projects.
• Strong embedded software architecture, design, development, and debugging.
• Experience interfacing software with hardware and working in a regulated industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 6–10 engineers.
• Provide technical direction for embedded software architecture, design, implementation, and testing.
• Oversee software development from requirements through verification and release.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, quality, and cross-functional teams.
• Drive software quality, reliability, performance, and maintainability.
• Establish engineering processes, code review standards, and continuous improvement.
• Manage project priorities, resources, schedules, and risks.
• Support hiring, performance management, and professional development.
