Job summary

Peraton is seeking an Associate Systems Engineer for the NSCCA program to support Air Force nuclear safety. The role focuses on assessing embedded software, performing code analysis, and verifying safety requirements on critical systems at the Layton, UT site.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse team, conduct testing, and present findings to stakeholders. Required are a STEM degree, OOP experience, strong technical writing, and the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• BS STEM degree in a relevant field.
• Experience or coursework in object-oriented programming.
• Ability to identify logic errors and safety hazards in software/hardware design.
• Technical writing ability for clear documentation.
• Self-directed, able to work independently and in a team.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assess systems and review software to find flaws and suggest improvements.
• Perform code examination, analysis, and testing.
• Work with system simulators and conduct statistical analysis.
• Review interfaces to understand design and function.
• Identify hardware/software portions for safety and mission criticality.
• Evaluate embedded software to verify correct implementation and safety.
• Define requirements, design, and test procedures to ensure performance.
• Document analyses and present findings to peers and management.
