Job summary

General Matter, Inc. invites an Embedded Engineering Intern to help develop performant software that directly controls enrichment systems.

You will work with cross-functional teams to command actuators, process high-speed signals, and ensure safety and accuracy in mission-critical applications. You will gain hands-on experience in low-level firmware, collaborate with engineers from multiple disciplines, and contribute to automated build and validation pipelines while supporting production

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Development experience in C, C++, Golang, Python, or Rust.
• Understanding of embedded or low-level systems development.
• Collaborative team member in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing safety-critical embedded software for industrial systems.
• Build low-level firmware in C/C++, Rust, and/or PLCs to control actuators and process sensor data.
• Support design of control architectures, state machines, and data acquisition systems.
• Contribute to automated build, test, and validation infrastructure for embedded software.
• Work with hardware, electrical, and controls engineers to integrate firmware with hardware.
