Job summary

Qrypt is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer in Germantown, MD (hybrid—4 days in office per week). You will own design, development, and test of digital logic and embedded software across systems, hardware, and Linux environments.

You will lead hardware/FPGA/software integration, work on quantum RNG platforms, and contribute to tooling, testing, and manufacturing processes. A strong background in embedded systems and C/C++ is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 4+ years in embedded software or Linux kernel development.
• Strong embedded systems design and development experience.
• Proficiency in C, C++, and Python; Linux server tuning and setup.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and RF/analog basics.
• Familiarity with Verilog or VHDL and FPGA development.
• Ability to review AI-generated work and maintain ownership of output.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and test of hardware, digital logic, and embedded software.
• Develop Linux kernel modules and user-space Linux software.
• Assist analog/mixed-signal PCB design, review, and debugging.
• Architect future products by understanding quantum RNG and security domains.
• Lead hardware/FPGA/software integration efforts.
• Develop manufacturing/test tools and supervise their execution.
• Use AI-assisted tooling while ensuring correctness and quality.
• Contribute to team AI adoption standards and tooling maturity.
• Assist in project planning and management.
