Job summary

Green Key Resources seeks an experienced engineer to design and integrate complex systems combining custom electronics, FPGA/digital logic, embedded firmware, Linux, and application software.

You will drive hardware bring-up, system validation, and production support, coordinating across hardware, firmware, and software teams while applying AI-assisted development tools with a focus on quality and reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

This position involves developing and integrating complex systems spanning hardware, FPGA/digital logic, embedded firmware, Linux, and application-level software. The role works across the full product lifecycle, from early architecture and hardware bring-up through system integration, validation, manufacturing support, and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and validate systems that combine custom electronics, programmable logic, embedded firmware, Linux components, and higher-level software.
• Contribute to the development, review, troubleshooting, and refinement of analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuit designs.
• Build expertise in specialized technologies and their applications to inform system architecture, product evolution, and technical decision-making.
• Coordinate integration across hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software components, resolving issues that span multiple engineering disciplines.
• Create and improve manufacturing fixtures, diagnostic utilities, validation methods, and production test processes.
• Develop and maintain procedures that support reliable system testing, characterization, and manufacturing.
• Incorporate AI-powered coding and development tools into engineering workflows while maintaining direct responsibility for technical accuracy, security, reliability, and code quality.
• Help establish practical standards for responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools, including development practices, review processes, and quality controls.
• Participate in technical planning, project estimation, prioritization, and cross-functional execution.

Desired Background

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 4 years of experience developing software for embedded systems, Linux platforms, or kernel-level environments.
• Strong background in embedded system architecture, development, debugging, and integration.
• Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Python, and Bash.
• Experience administering Linux systems, including installation, configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience bringing up new hardware and diagnosing hardware/software integration issues.
• Working knowledge of FPGA-based systems and hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.
• Exposure to RF systems, low-noise electronics, analog circuitry, or mixed-signal board development.
• Comfortable working with electronics laboratory and debugging equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and related instrumentation.
• Experience implementing or working with digital signal processing, control systems, or related algorithms.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to evaluate generated code, identify errors or weaknesses, make corrections, and take ownership of the resulting implementation.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
