Job summary

Magswitch Automation Company in Superior, CO is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to own the embedded, firmware, and controls strategy for our electromechanical and robotic products.

You will define requirements, select engineering partners, manage external teams, and ensure production-ready firmware, electronics, and connected-tool platforms, while coordinating with sales, manufacturing, and customers to meet schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Knowledgeable of embedded systems and programming C/C++.
• Experience with motors, actuators, sensor integration, and electrically actuated tool or automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Write, revise, and improve firmware for new and existing hardware.
• Bring up new boards and test firmware on real hardware.
• Debug firmware issues using logs, scopes, and basic test tools.
• Work with sensors, motors, I/O, and communication interfaces.
• Support firmware testing for prototypes and production units.
• Work with the sales team to help debug issues in the field.
• Work closely with the overseas manufacturing team, including off-hours meetings.
• Work with contractors and customers as needed.
• Stay on track with project timelines and budgets.
• Identify and promptly elevate any risk to project schedules and budgets to the manager.
