Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking a Systems Engineer II for the Athena Control Systems Team in Sterling, VA. You will design, code, integrate, and test embedded software for safety-critical flight and control systems.

The ideal candidate has C/C++, embedded RTOS experience, MATLAB and Python skills, and familiarity with DOORS. You will produce lifecycle artifacts, own components, and coordinate with leadership and customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with C/C++ in embedded systems and RTOS.
• Familiar with Jira, Subversion/Git/Version Management.
• STEM degree with 2+ years of relevant experience or advanced degree.
• Preferred familiarity with DOORS, MATLAB, Python.
• Experience in safety-critical systems and system integration.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, integrate, and test embedded software systems.
• Generate and maintain software lifecycle documentation.
• Take technical ownership of one or more components within a system.
• Summarize technical issues for project leadership.
• Travel up to 15% and perform system-level tests.
