Job summary

Technology Advancement Group (TAG) is an on-site/near Ashburn embedded systems company building trusted PNT hardware and software for DoD. We seek an Embedded Software Engineer to architect and implement software for our next-generation products, reporting to the Technical Director and guiding architecture choices end-to-end.

You will customize Android/Linux, lead board bring-up and BSP development, and develop drivers, HALs, and system services.

Qualifications

• Embedded Linux and Android experience on custom hardware and embedded platforms.
• Board bring-up and BSPs on real hardware with bootloader/kernel/driver debugging.
• Microcontroller firmware development for 32-bit MCUs on bare metal/RTOS.
• Processor/architecture decisions for shipped products; trade-offs and choices.
• Multi-core systems, performance and power optimization with measurements.
• U.S. person status under ITAR; eligibility for security clearance.
• Ability to work on secure boot, SELinux, and dm-verity.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build software inside next-generation PNT products; own key decisions.
• Lead processor and subsystem selection; work with hardware, systems, and test engineers.
• Customize Android/Linux for embedded devices; develop kernel, drivers, HAL, and services.
• Lead board bring-up and BSP development; debug bootloaders, kernel, drivers.
• Tune performance, power, and security; ensure platform integrity.
• Write and maintain firmware for 32-bit MCUs across interfaces (SPI/I2C/UART/CAN/USB).
• Collaborate with DoD customers and ensure compliance with security requirements.
