Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced software engineer to support an embedded team by building tooling for testing and simulations. You will design GUI tools, create automated tests with Python, and work with leadership to plan schedules and deliverables.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in embedded software/test engineering, expertise in Python, Tkinter, and embedded C, plus solid experience with unit/integration/HIL testing and maintainable tool frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years in software development and/or test engineering for embedded systems.
• 5+ years with Python for tooling, scripting, and test automation.
• 2+ years GUI applications using Tkinter or equivalent.
• 2+ years with embedded C development, building, testing, debugging.
• 3 years designing and executing unit, integration, system, and HIL tests.
• Proven ability to architect robust, maintainable test tools and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Provide software engineering tool support for an embedded software engineering team by developing and maintaining embedded software support tools for testing and simulations.
• Design and execute engineering support tools with common toolsets and User Interface development tools.
• Create automated testing applications with the appropriate hardware.
• Work with the technical leader to establish an effective work plan, including time estimates, schedule estimates, requirements and work processes.
• Provide clear and complete analysis documentation in accordance with GE engineering procedures.
• Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline.
