Job summary

Abbott is seeking a Software Engineer II in Sunnyvale, CA to perform moderate risk software project activities across development, test and requirements. You will analyze requirements, design interfaces, implement and debug code, and support test design and execution in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes embedded software testing, cross-functional teamwork and adherence to medical device development practices.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of experience in testing embedded software.
Experience with C, C++, C# and/or Python is required.
Unit- and integration-level testing and automated testing are recommended.
Experience with testing Embedded Software (firmware) in implantable medical devices is desired.
Experience with testing Bluetooth Low Energy in implantable medical devices is desired.

Responsibilities

Develops, maintains, and updates design and interface specifications from requirements.
Supports implementation and modification of software source code, scripts, and procedures.
Debugs and troubleshoots software problems and proposes strategic solutions for future development.
Writes and executes test designs, test cases, and test procedures (automated, semi-automated or manual).
Presents at design reviews and may lead testing projects.
Contributes to gathering, analyzing, and validating requirements.
