Applied Medical is seeking a Software Test Engineer I or II to join the Technology and Development Electrical team. This role focuses on software testing for embedded systems in medical devices, with placement based on experience.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, knowledge of C/C++/Python, and strong documentation and communication skills. On-site in California, with a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, software engineering, or related discipline.
• Proficient in programming languages including C, C++, and Python.
• Understanding of software development life cycles.
• Effective written and verbal communication; strong documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn and work at the hardware–software boundary of embedded devices.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Verifies and validates embedded software for medical devices and PC software.
• Reads, analyzes, and decomposes requirements for test development.
• Writes test protocols and participates in design reviews.
• Executes manual and automated tests at the system level.
• Logs issues and tracks them to closure with cross-functional teams.
• Collects data and trends to inform testing decisions.
• Supports submission of test protocols, reports, and traceability matrices.
