Embedded Software Test Engineer

The Embedded Software Test Engineer will work in the Software Certification team to analyze and test the embedded software operating on the ALIA-250 production aircraft.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  1. Develop automated and manual tests to perform requirements-based verification of the embedded software and software tools
  2. Perform software analyses such as worst-case timing, memory margin, structural coverage, data coupling, and control coupling
  3. Generate lifecycle data in compliance with DO-178C Level A, including requirements-based verification cases and verification procedures, verification, and analysis results along with associated documentation and traceability
  4. Inform and review the outputs of the software development team
  5. Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with internal and external customers
  6. Be high energy, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree from an accredited university
  2. 3-5 years experience in embedded software verification in a highly regulated environment
  3. Mastery of the C programming language and common test scripting languages
  4. Experience in areas such as hard real-time systems, built-in-test, tasking and interrupts, testing and development, RTOS, bare-metal development, communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI)
  5. Strong understanding of software configuration management and modern software build, integration, testing, and deployment methodologies
  6. Ability to read electrical schematics, documentation, and datasheets
  7. Good team, communication, and leadership skills
Above and Beyond Qualifications:
  1. Experience with STMicroelectronics ARM Cortex-M series microcontrollers
  2. Deep understanding of DO-178C and its supplements
  3. Knowledge of ARP 4754A and ARP 4761 processes and their impact on software processes
  4. Familiarity with Google G Suite, Slack, Polarion ALM, Git, and Subversion
