Job summary

BrightHire Search Partners is seeking an Embedded Software Team Lead in the United States to design, develop, and test device control software for a cutting-edge medical imaging system. You will collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and optics teams to gather software requirements and provide tools to streamline product development.

You will mentor junior engineers while taking ownership of software architecture, driver development, and real-time control algorithms for a multi-component

Qualifications

• 5-12 years of embedded software experience.
• Experience writing C++ to communicate with hardware.
• Experience with Linux environments.
• Experience with ROS framework.
• Experience with Real Time OS (VxWorks, ROS, QNX).
• Experience with communication protocols (CAN, MOD, etc.).
• Experience with multithreading.
• Experience with PID or motion control.
• Experience with hardware interfaces (Ethernet, Serial, SPI, I2C).

Responsibilities

• Develop software for medical devices within a robotics framework.
• Driver development for motor controllers, cameras, and sensors.
• Develop algorithms for controlling a multi-component mechatronic system.
• Create software design and software test documents.
• Contribute to software architecture design and mentor junior engineers.

We are looking for an Embedded Software Team Lead who will be involved in designing, developing, and testing device control software, both at the driver and at the application level. The candidate will also collaborate with other engineering groups such as mechanical, electrical and optics to gather software requirements, and provide software tools for streamlining product development. Responsibilities:

• Develop software for medical devices within a well-established robotics framework.
• Driver development for interfacing with motor controllers, cameras and sensors.
• Develop algorithms for controlling a multi component mechatronic system based on software requirements.
• Write software design and software test documents.
• Invovled in software architecture design
• Mentor/Collaborate with junior engineers and triage issues

Qualifications:

• 5-12 years of embedded software experience
• Experience writing C++ to communicate with hardware
• Experience with closed loop progamming
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• Experience with message protocols (CAN, MOD, etc.)
• Experience with ROS Framework
• Good foundation in TCP/IP protocol stack.
• Experience with multithreading
• Experience with a Real Time OS (VxWorks, ROS, QNX)
• Experience with PID or motion control
• Experience of hardware communication interfaces such as Ethernet, Serial, SPI, I2C.
